Oasis

About Us:

Welcome to the Oasis website! Oasis is the name of the Sr. High youth community at Tualatin Foursquare Church. We’re about “being” here. We believe that God has created you for a real reason, and we come together at Oasis to better understand what that reason is! We’re excited that you’re checkin’ us out, and look forward to you coming and seeing what the excitement is all about!

o • a • sis –noun´ a fertile place in the desert, due to the presence of water

That is what we here- at TFC youth- want to be: an Oasis. When life seems like a desert- scorching, confused which way to go- we want to give water and rest to people. We want to give the living water that only comes from God. If you think that’s only “church talk”, we challenge you to come see what we’re talking about.

Leadership

Joshua Cogar has been the youth pastor for Oasis since May of ’04. He grew up in a minister’s family which led him to pursue his education at George Fox University. While there he played soccer and his senior year was the student chaplain. After graduating in ’99 with a degree in Youth Ministry, he worked several years at Tilikum Center for Retreats as their challenge course manager, High Adventure Camp Director, and teambuilding instructor. After that he and his wife spent a year and a half volunteering with youth in Denmark. He and his wife, Julie, returned home and had their first child, Evan, in March of ’04. They currently reside in Dundee, and love having people to their house!

Volunteers make the ministry happen! Talk to Josh how you can be involved!
